Undergraduate Courses
The European Studies Programme provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of European civilization. The BA major in European Studies combines core courses in European Studies, coursework in at least one European language, and a wide selection of related courses offered by theFaculty of Arts, Social Sciences, and Business and Economics.
Both rigorous and flexible, the European Studies Programme enables students to tailor their studies to suit their individual needs and aims. Students can develop the necessary skills for a wide range of pursuits related to the politics, history, and the economy of Europe.
The Undergraduate curriculum for the European Studies major is composed of four main components: core courses, electives, language requirements, and a field trip to Europe during the second year of study. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive yet specific understanding of modern Europe.

Important Information:
| - | European Studies majors are required to take EUST 1010 in their first year of study, EUST 2010 or EUST 2011 in their second year of study, and EUST 3010 in their final year. |
| - | In the second year of their studies, students will go on a field trip to Europe. The field trip counts as one full credit-bearing course, in this case EUST 2020 European Studies in Europe. |
| - | In the third year of their studies, students have the option to write a [EUST 3003 European Studies Dissertation or conduct a EUST 3004 European Studies Research Project on a research topic of their interest. In both cases, students will be supervised by a member of staff of the European Studies Programme. Research workshops are part of these modules. |
| - | In addition to the core courses, European Studies Majors are required to take elective courses. They can choose from a broad variety of courses in Comparative Literature, Economics and Finance, English, Fine Arts, Geography, History, Music, Philosophy, Politics and Public Administration, as well as Sociology. There are also myriad optional language courses designed to further improve students' language proficiency in the European language they decide to learn. |
